Labor Negotiations Update – Durham School Services & Teamsters Local 572

On Wednesday night, the SELPA was informed by Teamsters Local 572 leadership that the Durham Bus Drivers had voted and overwhelmingly approved the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Durham School Services.  This information was confirmed Thursday morning with Durham School Services Leadership. 

The SELPA and its member school districts are pleased to learn that an agreement has been reached. Based upon the latest information, the SELPA anticipates that all routes will continue to operate normally, with a Collective Bargaining Agreement in place through the end of the 2027-2028 school year.  

School Bus Drivers play a vital role in our services to students and families and we thank our dedicated drivers for their service.  The SELPA looks forward to strengthening our partnership with Durham School Services and all bus drivers as we move into the future.

Actualización de las Negociaciones Laborales – Servicios Escolares de Durham y Teamsters Local 572

El miércoles por la noche, el liderazgo de Teamsters Local 572 le informó a SELPA que los conductores de autobús de Durham votaron y aprobaron abrumadoramente el contrato colectivo laboral con los Servicios Escolares de Durham. Esta información fue confirmada el jueves por la mañana con el liderazgo de los Servicios Escolares de Durham.

SELPA y sus distritos escolares miembros se complacen en saber que se ha llegado a un acuerdo. A base de la información más reciente, SELPA prevé que todas las rutas continuarán operando con normalidad, con un contrato colectivo laboral vigente hasta el final del año escolar 2027-2028.

Los conductores de autobús escolar desempeñan un papel vital en nuestros servicios para estudiantes y familias, y agradecemos a nuestros dedicados conductores por su servicio. 特殊教育地方計畫聯盟 (SELPA) 與所屬學區對於雙方達成協議深表欣慰。根據最新消息，特殊教育地方計畫聯盟 (SELPA) 預期所有路線將繼續正常運行，並且新的集體談判協議將持續到 2027-2028 學年結束。

Labor Negotiations Update – Durham School Services & Teamsters Local 572

On Tuesday, the SELPA was informed that Teamsters Local 572 had presented a new offer to Durham School Services, which Durham accepted, leading to a Tentative Agreement. Additionally, Teamsters leadership expressed their intent to move forward with a ratification vote with Durham Bus Drivers as soon as possible.

A location has been secured for the ratification vote, which will take place tonight, Wednesday, September 10th. 

Based upon the latest information, the SELPA anticipates that all routes will continue to operate normally through the end of the week.  Once information regarding the ratification of the agreement is available, the SELPA will communicate with all families.

Actualización de las Negociaciones Laborales – – Servicios Escolares de Durham y Teamsters Local 572

El martes, SELPA fue informado de que Teamsters Local 572 presentó una nueva oferta a los Servicios Escolares de Durham, la cual Durham aceptó, y resultó en un acuerdo provisional. Adicionalmente, los líderes de Teamsters expresaron su intención de proceder con la votación de ratificación con los conductores de autobuses de Durham lo antes posible.

Se ha reservado un lugar para la votación de ratificación, que tendrá lugar esta noche, miércoles 10 de septiembre.

A base de la información más reciente, SELPA prevé que todas las rutas continuarán operando con normalidad hasta el final de la semana. SELPA se comunicará con todas las familias una vez que se disponga más información sobre la ratificación del acuerdo.

The East San Gabriel Valley SELPA continues to communicate daily with Durham School Services. Based upon the latest information available, the SELPA anticipates all bus routes to operate normally for Tuesday, September 9th, and Wednesday, September 10th.  An additional update will be sent no later than Wednesday, September 10th.
